Through Anjiyu’s Eyes
A Photo Essay, Yei, South Sudan
Perspective • Storytelling • Hope • Belonging
Anjiyu was nine years old when she first asked if she could try taking photographs with my DSLR. I quickly realized she had a remarkable eye. So I started helping her learn how to use the camera.
The country had just become the world's newest nation, and Anjiyu wanted to show the world what mattered to her: the people she loved, the places she called home, and the beauty of everyday life.
Every photograph in this collection was taken by Anjiyu.
